I ordered this deal, after seeing that it was several dollars cheaper than the one offered by another service — same offered items, etc. Honest, having only one review on this bundle deal was a little worrisome as the reviewer expressed his disappointment for not receiving the gloves as pictured nor the fabled “speed bag” (which still perplexes me as there’s nothing mentioned about it whatsoever in the description). Nevertheless, I took my chance and ordered this because it was cheaper getting it from the Amazon warehouses.

Having decided to take advantage of the Amazon Prime trial membership, I did the free two day shipping. I received it in about 3 days from the 27th, which in all fairness, I ordered it late in the day initially — so it was processed around the 27th/28th, shipped on the 28th and was received on the 30th.

The box itself was a little tore up, just towards the bottom though. Given that it is a 70lb bag, I figured as much. Inside, they stuck the gloves, WHICH are the ones advertised in the description (MMA style gloves) and the handwraps. The bag has no rips or holes in it and is well packed. The stitching is great and the polycanvas does make it seem like it’ll last longer than the traditional heavy bags made from vinyl or vinyl-like material. Anyway, I’ll try to update my review of it after a month of usage in regards how well the filling is holding up.

All in all, everything is as it should be. The gloves are a bit big for me, being small, but I’ll try them and see how they feel after awhile.

I coupled this with the Everlast Heavy Bag Stand which supports an MMA bag such as this.

Another note: Being a female, at 5’2″, I was a little worried how I’d get this up to my apartment when I was at work the day it was delivered. The FedEx guy was nice enough to bring up both my heavy bag stand and heavy bag to the inside of my door (with the help of my apartment office) while I was away at work. What gets me is that the Heavy Bag was delivered by UPS and he brought it up too.

You are so cool, FedEx man.

    EDIT: December 20th, 2011 UPDATE

So, after SEVERAL months of moderate usage, I have several observations about this bundle deal and the individual items.

MMA Gloves – Okay, these are NOT gloves meant for a heavy bag. No. If you have small hands like me, having these on with wraps make it really difficult to make a proper fist. After awhile, you’ll notice that the gloves themselves actually start to hurt because you are TRYING to make a fist but the sheer size of it makes it near impossible. I would really recommend purchasing bag gloves specific for doing some serious work on the bag. These are the ones that I purchased based on my price point and what I was looking for in gloves, which was something to keep my hands cool and snug so that it wouldn’t affect my knuckles and joints. TITLE Gel Wrold Bag Gloves

Handwraps – These are fine, but I ended up purchasing additional handwraps made by Title. Careful on putting these in the wash unless you have a a mesh bag or some such to put them in. They have the potential to cause problems with your washing machine if not contained!

Everlast stand (Not included but described in original review) – This is holding up well. It does make noise which is understandable when you are smacking your bag around. Some people suggest putting plate weights on the three pegs for more stability. I tend to agree since I haven’t gotten around to purchasing them.. I think close to 70 lbs distributed around the stand will give it enough weight to not move around so much when you’re really angry at your coworker’s picture you’ve got pinned to the bag (kidding).

I also purchased the anchor made by Everlast for the bag. It’s not the best, but it does what it needs to… Though I think tying bungies around weight plates directly under the bag would have been just as effective, if not more.

Polycanvas bag – This bag is durable, yes. I would highly recommend raising the bag to where you are at a comfortable level to swing your arms at. I’m not an expert, but I find that at least having it high enough to where my jabs are hitting the middle of the bag, doesn’t make it seem like it is losing tight packing of the filling inside. At first, I had the bag a lower, and my punches would be towards the top, loosening the filling to a fairly noticeable degree. My punches were being sunken into the loose mass where as I wanted the feeling of the bag “pushing back” or resisting the force of my punch. Raising it a couple inches higher has remedied this and so…

I bought this to punch and kick a bit as an exercise regimen. It’s an affordable 70#er. A 50#er would have been fine too. AND much easier to move when moving is required. Quality wise it is just fine!
